Live Soul Sessions
Creative Arts and Leadership Afterschool Program
Today, there are more single-parent homes, less guidance, and less positive after school activities for youth. Thus, youth are more tempted to engage in negative behaviors such as crime, violence, experimentation with drugs, and promiscuity. The most prevalent time that negative behaviors are conducted by youth are after school between 3pm-6pm due to the lack of guidance and positive activities.
Youth do not have many opportunities to be engaged in creative activities that they enjoy. Arts programs are being cut drastically and the youth are being forced to fill their time with negative behaviors. Because they feel that we, as a society, are not investing in their well being, they are not encouraged to give back to their community. Therefore, community service is not a priority with many youth.
Live Soul Sessions is an after school program that utilizes the creative arts and leadership to inspire the youth to be engaged in positive activities and educating them about the importance of a healthy lifestyle, being active, and serving the community. This program provides them with a safe and positive environment to develop their creativity, and to minimize the opportunity for negative behaviors. This program engages them in exercise and will educate them on nutrition, being fit, and a healthy diet. They learn about the importance of service, and therefore, learn leadership skills to help improve their community.
Classes are co-sponsored by AllTheWayLive Foundation and Soulciety.
