About Soulciety

With the artistic and cultural diversity of the East Bay, Soulciety first began as a performing arts organization. We have produced numerous theatrical productions and live events that have brought theater and performing arts to thousands of youth. Our Empower theatrical production series collaborated with numerous performing artists from around the Bay Area and culminated with a sold-out show at the Herbst Theater in San Francisco.

With the need to get East Bay youth employed, Soulciety’s county-funded job program provided employment services to youth in probation and foster care to get them back on track. The program helped youth to develop invaluable work skills and experience that prepared them to enter the workforce. The goal was for youth to become self-sufficient and to successfully transition out of the system. From 2011-2019, Soulciety provided 1,100 paid internships to system-involved youth and paid over $1.4M in youth payroll. 

With the abundant technological resources of the Bay Area, Soulciety has donated hundreds of refurbished computers to schools in the Philippines. These computers have provided youth in impoverished and rural areas with access to technology and computer education.   

With the urge to connect cultures and resources around the world, the Bridge Program brought youth and young adult volunteers from the Bay Area to various provinces in the Philippines to provide aid and teach performing arts, health, and other educational workshops. From 2007-2019, 150 volunteers participated in the Bridge Program with Soulciety in the Philippines.
